Techtronic Industries – Solid Like a Rock

Technotronic40Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. (0669.HK) is the world’s third largest producer of power tools and electrical home appliances behind Black & Decker and Bosch. Techtronic Industries (TTI) started in the 80’s as a contract manufacturer of batteries and battery-powered equipment for some of the cheapest trademarks of major US retail chains (Sears, Roebuck) but acquired over the years additional rights on various well-renowned brands such as AEG, Hoover, Ryobi, Dirt Devil. Alibaba – Open Sesam!

Alibaba40Alibaba Group Holding Limited (BABA) will be part of the MSCI emerging market index from Dec 1. The world’s biggest e-commerce company is listed since September 2014 at the NYSE. An IPO pricing of 25bn USD made the company the largest IPO in history. With a first day closing price at 93.89 USD, Alibaba has reached a market value of 231bn USD. Tencent – Ahead of the O2O Game

Tencent40Tencent Holding Limited (700.HK) is China’s largest internet company with a portfolio including some of China’s most successful internet services such as instant-messaging services QQ and WeChat, each with more than 600m active users. Tencent is on its way to close a deal to invest 1bn USD in the Meituan-Dianping, a joint venture backed from two startups in the area of group-buying services (similar to Groupon) and restaurant-review (similar to Yelp).
